About The d'Arcy Doyle Art Awards

The Awards are a fitting tribute to one of Australia's
most popular artists, d'Arcy Doyle. He lived and painted
in Mudgeeraba from 1973 till his death in 2001.

Between 1986 and 1993, he was Australia's top selling
artist, both in quantity and money value. Apart from his
art, these awards will help to perpetuate his name into
the future. d'Arcy painted mainly landscapes, horses and
      typically Australian characters.

The d'Arcy Doyle Art Awards were originally created to
encourage emerging artists and have quickly gained a
reputation for good quality art at reasonable prices.
It now receives entries from some of the top professional
artists.  To win The d'Arcy Doyle Art Award has been a
major stepping stone in each artist's career.  Indeed, all
winners in the pst six years are now full time professional
      artists.  Hopefully this will continue.
