2008 d'Arcy Doyle Art Award Entry Criteria & General Conditions

  • Paintings, drawings and sculptures in any media.
  • The Award prize-winners are non-aquisitive.
  • Only two entries per artist (across all categories).
  • All work must be original and unaided work of the artist and must not breach any copyright.
  • Entries must not have previously won a first prize award in any competition.
  • All works must be For Sale. A 25% Commission will be charged on all sales. Proceeds from sales will be settled two weeks after clearance of payment.
  • Paintings must be suitably framed and ready for hanging. A stretched canvas is considered framed. No wet paintings will be accepted. The organisers reserve the right to reject or withdraw any exhibit at any time.
  • All works are to be labelled on the back with the title, category, price, artist's name, address and phone details.
  • Artists are invited to submit a maximum of two entries only.
  • Framed works must not exceed a total perimeter of 4 metres. (Larger artwork by negotiation only).
  • All works are to remain for the duration of the exhibition and the artist agrees to allow the organisers of the event to have non-exclusive rights of reproduction of images for the purpose of promotion of the Awards.
  • The judges decision is final.
  • Uncollected works may be deemed abandoned goods and may be disposed of by the organisers.
  • All care will be taken but the organisers will not be held responsible for any loss or damages of entries at the exhibition or in transit. Artists should insure their own work.
  • All expenses in conjunction with forwarding, packing and returning of entries shall be borne by the competitor.
  • Regional Entries: If consigning entries via post or carrier, it is essential that a pre-paid return voucher is included with the artwork. The pre-paid voucher will be returned to the artist if the artwork is sold.
  • Due to quality or space restrictions, not all entries may be hung or displayed.
  • Receipts will be issued on delivery of paintings.

Please Note: OPTIONAL - Artists are requested to submit a short typed paragraph on a 7.5 x 13cm (3" x 5") card, with your thoughts and objectives about each individual artwork you have submitted. Also requested is your artist's biography typed on an A5 size sheet of paper or card. These should be submitted with your artworks.
